Woodland Management - Tree Work Process

Issue 1 Version 3 30th November 2022

  1. Contact Surrey Borough Council to determine if there is a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) on the tree in question. For more information please see Surrey Heath Borough Council's Protected Trees website.

  2. If there is a TPO on tree then seek further advice from Surrey Heath Borough Council.

  3. All “Low Risk” issue shall be funded by the Property Owner and not by KDFMCL.

  4. For  “Low and High Risk” issues, request and complete the KDFMCL Tree Works Request Form and e-mail together with TPO paperwork from Surrey Borough Council to the following email address: kdfmcl@gmail.com

  5. Once the Tree Works Request Form has been received, it will then be discussed and actioned by the KDFMCL directors.

  6. Property Owner will be contacted regarding a visit from a Contractor who will assess issue and provide quote to the KDFMCL.

  7. Once quotes has been received and agreed, the nominated Contractor will then arrange a convenient date with Property Owner to perform required work.

  8. Once work has been completed, ALL branches etc. will be cut and stacked in the Woodland Areas, for re-cycling by the Wildlife.

  9. A record of all work performed on trees identified as “High Risk” will be kept by the KDFMCL and will be used for financial and audit information.
